Description
Among the 77 airfields listed from Bad Dürrheim to Zarten are again those with a history dating back to the early days of aviation, and others that were only used for a few days or were never completed. These again include a site that was associated with a "Waldwerk" for the production of the most modern turbine aircraft of the time, the Messerschmitt Me 262. In addition, the history of the production site of the wing of this aircraft in the Engelberg tunnel near Leonberg, a facility of the air intelligence unit and an air ammunition depot are briefly described.
In this tenth volume of the series, again mainly airfields are presented which, before and at the beginning of World War II, were in the area of responsibility of Luftgaukommando VII Munich, like those already described in volume 9. A few belonged to the areas of Luftgaukommandos XII Wiesbaden and XIII Nuremberg.
