The Twin Otter is a very versatile aircraft that can be used on wheels, skids or with floating pods for transport, reconnaissance or rescue flights. The Twin Otter flew for the first time in May 1965. Production of the Series 100 started in 1966 and 115 aircraft were built until it was superseded by the Series 200 with extended fuselage nose. It has excellent STOL characteristics and is used for both civil and military purposes. The aircraft received PT6A engines with 652 hp, payload: 2.6 t.
