Description
Volume 137 of the series "Guerreros y Batallas" describes in detail the events connected with the conquest of the Canary Islands by the Spanish kings in the 15th century. This part of Spanish history has rarely been examined. This work aims to at least partially fill this knowledge gap.
At the time of their conquest and colonisation by the Spanish crown, the Canary Islands were populated by indigenous tribes who fought fiercely for their freedom and rejected the Christian religion brought by the Spanish. A considerable human and material effort was required to conquer the Canary Islands in their entirety for the Spanish Crown over a period of almost 100 years.
