Description
Richly illustrated account of the events surrounding Napoleon Bonaparte's second and final exile on the South Atlantic island of Saint Helena. The booklet shows in detail in words and pictures how the former Emperor of the French spent his last years on the St. Helena estate under close observation by the British. In addition to the description of the historical events, the historical location is also presented to the reader in its present-day appearance. Other sections deal, among other things, with the organisation and uniforming of the soldiers of the Republic of Batavia and the Kingdom of Holland or introduce a confidant or opponent of Napoleon Bonaparte with Francesco Melzu, the Duke of Lodi, or George Canning.
