Description
The author is a journalist with intimate knowledge of the political scene in the Middle East, which he travels regularly. He works out the historical and political background of "terrorism", which has been known there since the "Zealots" of biblical times and the "Assassins" from the era of the Crusaders. It quickly becomes clear that the movements classified as "terrorist" by the West could not be more different in their objectives and methods, if one compares organisations such as Hezbollah, Hamas, Hezb ut-Tahrir and the equally obscure and strangely intangible Al Qaeda. For this reason, there is no uniform threat scenario, as the term "war on terror" suggests.
The usual Western view obscures the view of the true causes as well as possible solution strategies. During his travels, Niko Colmer was able to conduct numerous interviews with leading representatives of various movements considered to be terrorist and presents his findings in exciting reports. In doing so, he also asks about a possible complicity of the "West" in the phenomena of terror to which it has declared war.
