Roman province of Judea around 70 A.D. Antonia, the only daughter of the governor Gallus, is married against her will to the rich, power-hungry upstart Procula, for whom she is nothing more than another step on his way to the top. Antonia's heart, however, has long belonged to Aaron, the son of the archpriest at the Temple in Jerusalem.
