In 1871, after the war with France had just been survived, Baden-Baden was worried whether the "summer capital of Europe" could regain its former glory. In this time of upheaval, the young Flora, daughter of the seed merchant Hannah Kerner, arrives in the city. A dream comes true for her, as she is trained as a flower arranger in the small flower shop of the Sonnenschein family. With her freshness and warmth of heart, she conquers the family and especially their son Friedrich; with her ideas she brings new life into the dusty shop. Soon she becomes Friedrich's wife and serves the elegant clientele, including the European aristocracy. But success divides the couple, and Flora begins to long for passionate love. She walks a fine line. Flora risks everything for her personal happiness.
