"The Saga of the Dwarves" is a new series which, like 'Elves', consists of self-contained individual volumes in which different fates and aspects of different peoples are told, which taken together nevertheless form a single, large panorama - here: that of the dwarf peoples. Nicolas Jarry ('Götterdämmerung', 'Troja') and Pierre-Denis Goux ('Mjöllnir') kick off the series with an unusual, remarkably thoughtful volume. Four more by alternating teams of authors will follow.
Ulrog should have been master of the Order of the Forge. Perhaps even the greatest of them all. His knowledge and power over the magic of the runes was legendary.... before he decided to retire and never forge another weapon. He was then despised, rejected and ultimately forgotten. Years passed and Ulrog had a son, Redwin, to whom he tried to impart an art dedicated not to destruction but to life. Redwin, always humiliated by those who see his father as a coward, craves his revenge. Against Ulrog's will, he resolves to become Lord of the Runes, the greatest master smith and the warlord of his order.
