Description
Volume 37 of the series "Imagenes de Guerra". In the spring of 1945, the Red Army began its last major offensive to conquer Berlin. In the city, German troops prepared for the approaching Red Army by organising available forces and building defensive lines, while the generals of the Wehrmacht tried to stem the Soviet tide on the banks of the Oder. This book, which focuses on the armoured units deployed by both sides in the battles for Berlin, begins its account with the battles for Pomerania, where the German "King Tigers" brought into action were still able to temporarily hold off the Soviet troops under Marshal Zhukov.
It shows the progress of the battle through the battles for the Seelow Heights to the encirclement and eventual capture of the Reich capital. It shows which armoured vehicles were used by the Germans and the Soviets in the fierce fighting and how they were employed in the street and house fighting in Berlin.
