Description
In the 1930s, progress had a name: Streamline. Streamlined forms stood for speed, power and elegance. Around the world, the streamline soon became synonymous with speed. Whether steam locomotives, aeroplanes, cars or buses - all of them were given a streamlined outer skin and shaped the image of an entire era. This work is just as unique as the streamline: In around 30 years of work, Anton von Hornstein has created an encyclopaedia of all the streamlined steam locomotives ever built worldwide. He traces the development from the beginnings before the First World War to their end in the 1950s.
