Evolution
For nearly 8 years you have seen Minitracks grow up, evolve and take its place in specialized press as the reference title in the world of our favourite scales. But Minitracks is only a part of our releases and for some time now it has proved impossible to ensure an on-time quarterly publication while still keeping the quality it is praised for.
Our other books are time-consuming to make and this is why we had to take 'officially' into account the late release of our magazine. This is why, effective with issue #8, Minitracks will be issued twice a year. Of course this change will not at all have an influence on the number of issues of your present subscription. But this change will make it possible for us to publish on schedule from mow on. The last price increase occurred in 2004 and since then most of the expenses have raised. We delayed as much as possible the days when we had to take this into account but 'time has come now'. But we decided to increase the number of pages to 80 and the cover is thicker, more in line to its new status of a half-yearly magazine and the quality that you now expect.
The spare time created by this change will not see us idle but will be put to good use for preparing surprises and make real some projects that we have in mind. We mentioned it in the last issue, but we can now officially announce the regular issues will be complemented by special issues focused on subjects that could not be tackled well in short articles. The first issue of what is logically called "Thema" will be about the "trucs et astuces" ("tips and tricks") of our author Emmanuel Nouaillier, well renowned by the quality of his builds. His first opus will show us how to reproduce step by step street scenes 'more than realistic' should we say. It will be released late this year or early next one. More about this in the October #9 issue.
You know that we are driven by our passion and this is why we are pleased to announce the release of the first resin kit by the 'Editions du Barbotin', only available to the readers of Minitracks. This will be very limited run available approximately from June as a subscription. The interest you will place in it will determine the future grow of this emerging range of high quality. Please have a look at the end of this issue to find all the information about how to procure this model.
