Over 100,000 visitors were attracted to the exciting exhibition "Schliemann's Worlds" with its 700 exhibits on Berlin's Museum Island. Together with Wilhelm Dörpfeld, Schliemann became a pioneer in the stratigraphic recording of the sequence of settlement layers. And he irretrievably destroyed part of the arena in what is now Hisarlik when he had the excavation field dug 17 metres into the ground. The exhibition also showed this: Schliemann created the subject, with all its faults.
