Description
The more than 600 photographs collected by the authors provide a unique insight into the Royal Italian Air Force of the years 1923 to 1945. The contemporary photographs show in a unique way the everyday life of pilots and ground personnel in times of peace and war. Of course, the aircraft flown by the Italian Air Force in the interwar period and in World War 2 are also shown in detail. There are also pictures of Italian flying aces of World War II, such as Italo Balbo, or the Italian Air Force General Giovanni Messe, who was awarded the Knight's Cross. The colour photo gallery also contains previously unpublished photographs of headgear, uniforms and equipment of members of the Italian Air Force.
