Description
The Focke-Wulf Fw 200 "Condor" was originally a civilian aircraft that was used by the German Air Force in numerous military roles during World War II. As one of the Luftwaffe's few four-engined aircraft, the Fw 200 initially served as a maritime reconnaissance aircraft and bomber and was nicknamed the "Scourge of the Atlantic".
Although the Fw 200 was not a particularly robust aircraft and only relatively few examples were built, the "Condor" played a role that should not be underestimated in cutting off British supply lines in the Atlantic, at least in the early phase of World War 2. This book covers the entire development of this somewhat mythical aircraft, from its early and rapid successes to its gradual withdrawal from front-line service.
