Description
The "Normandie-Niemen" squadron was a fighter unit made up of French war volunteers who fought under Soviet command against the Germans on the Eastern Front. This volume tells the story of this extraordinary flying unit of World War II through the biographies of 15 of its 96 members.
In addition to the life and mission stories of the 15 "Normandie-Niemen" pilots, the volume includes colour profiles of the Soviet Yakovlev fighters flown by these men, which interestingly were equipped with a French aircraft engine.
