The entire history of a German assault gun brigade in World War II is traced, from its formation on 1 October 1940 in Jüterbog to its surrender in Austria in May 1945. During this period, the so-called "Buffalo Brigade" fought along the Metaxa Line, near Kiev and in front of Moscow, near Voronezh and in the Kalmyk Steppe, in the Crimea and in 1944/1945 in Yugoslavia and Hungary.
