The Iron Cross in all its forms and further developments is one of the best known military awards for outstanding bravery worldwide. This is especially true of the Knight's Cross of the Second World War. Based on years of painstaking research, this documentation aims to show the military life of each individual bearer of this award and, using the various source materials, to explain the reasons for the award.

In this second volume, the holders of the Knight's Cross of the German Wehrmacht in World War II are listed in alphabetical order from F (Fangohr) to H (Hüttebräuker), with those of the Waffen-SS also being taken into account. A table-like, detailed short biography with information on the military career of each of those named, with details of all subordination relationships and service in various units, as well as a list of any names mentioned in the Wehrmacht report. An accompanying text explains the act of bravery or military achievement that led to the award of the Knight's Cross. The visual material includes at least one portrait photo of the recipient, often supplemented by other photos. For historians, this is an indispensable, high-quality and carefully researched source work. At the same time, however, it is also a useful source of background information for collectors of orders and bestowal documents.
