Ten articles from seven well-known artists and three making the first appearance in our editions, are featured in this issue, where you'll find lots of tips and techniques about modeling miniature figures, busts, and vignettes from ancient times to the Second World War. Chosen subjects are covered in detail and illustrated with step-by-step photos and explanatory texts. First up is a feature on "Young Miniatures" 1:10 scale bust by Ernesto Reyes Stalhuth, one of our regular contributors. The "German Waffen SS with Panzerschreck" covers six pages with a lot of full-page photographs showing in exquisite detail some impressive painting of camouflage and military gear. The second of Ernestos articles is an SS German Gebirgsjäger 1:10 scale bust, again from the "Young Miniatures" Military Series. His five-page article shows how to paint realistically textured surfaces using acrylics to represent materials and fabrics. After a short rest, Sergey Popovichenko returns to "Mr. Black Publications" with an impressive step-by-step, six-page feature on a 75 mm "Pegaso Models" Pawnee Warrior metal figure. He explains in detail his particular oil painting technique for flesh and the use of acrylics for fabrics. Christos Katselos continues with another two of his regular contributions on painting 1:10 scale busts. The first is "Young Miniatures" 1:10 scale Stormtrooper 1916 covering four pages, and the second is a two-page feature on "Life Miniatures" 1:10 scale WWII Soviet Female Tanker. We are pleased to welcome three new contributors: Zacharias Andriopoulos, Selu Casanova, and Myouchin. Zacharias presents a small two-page article, but with excellent painting references, for "Young Miniatures" 1:10 scale Roman General bust. Selu is next up with four pages featuring a 1:35 scale WWII German Kampfgruppe vignette using two "Mantis Miniatures" figures and a Darius resin base. Myouchins sculpting article for the 14th Century Medieval Knight is, perhaps, one of the most surprising in this entire book. This is Myouchins debut in a published work and he offers some excellent photos and a descriptive text, enabling the reader to understand in detail how much effort and talent is needed to produce such a masterly sculpted bust. The article is 10 pages long with about 50 step-by-step photos showing, over the final two pages, really big photos of the box art painting of the "Young Miniatures" bust by Kirill Kanaev.
