Description
This chronicle describes the difficult and loss-ridden path of the Kampfgeschwader 76 of the German Luftwaffe with the Ju 88 A-4 during the battles in Italy, the defence against the Allied invasion in the bridgehead Anzio-Nettuno. The murderous attacks on Allied ship convoys are also described in detail.
However, the largest part of the chronicle is taken up by the conversion of parts of the squadron to the then most modern jet bombers of the type Arado Ar 234 B-2 and the defensive battles against the British and American troops on the Western Front. The chronicle ends with the surrender on 8 May 1945 in Schleswig-Holstein.
